Here’s what some lawmakers don’t want you to know. During the pandemic people will have less access to birth control, will be out of work and confronting a financial crisis, may face unintended pregnancies, and many will decide to have an abortion.
As much of the country shelters in place, the benefits of being able to have an abortion in the safety of your home are even greater, but the primary risk remains the possibility of investigation, prosecution, and punishment for self-managing an abortion or for supporting someone who does.
Education and awareness about safe and effective medication abortion that brings the option of safe and effective care at home is critical. It’s time for abortion on our own terms.
